Tasks: Terrazzo tile replacement to several landings. We provided samples for sign off and arranged manufacture. Once we received the tiles we returned to site out of hours to replace the terrazzo tile landings. We broke out the existing landings, installed the new tiles and polished them to specification. Our Terrazzo Installers had to ensure all walkways were protected and dust prevention was adequate.

Tasks: Anti slip treatment to main concourse.

R-12 were contracted to carry out Pendulum slip testing and anti slip treatments to gain a pendulum test value (PTV) of 40 when wet. Due to several project delays we had a small window in which to complete the works so we pulled out all the stops to help the contractor get over the finish line on time. We worked long shifts and exceeded all expectations on completing the works.

Tasks:  In situ and precast Terrazzo installation to wudu. We were provided with imperfect substrates that consisted of concrete, screws, engineering bricks, plywood and cement boards. Obviously this was going to be an issue as in situ has to be installed to solid substrates. Utilising our expertise, R-12 came up with a solution to use both precast and in situ terrazzo  to form the correct profile and create suitable finishes.

Tasks: Resurfacing to existing terrazzo staircases, landings and new in situ install to landing extensions. a complete repair and regrond to the existing stairs and landing which left all surfaces looking new. By grinding the terrazzo wet remove approximately 1mm essentially exposing new material. This was then polished to specification and sealed to protect from dirt and grime.

Tasks: R - 12 were sub contracted to complete tiling works at the World Duty Free Stansted Airport. The project was a design that involved machining thousands of quartz tiles by hand to create long curves and bends as a walkway around the stores designer products. Due to the mechanical structure of the substrate and 150mm difference in levels the preparation required came with a long list of potential issues but fortunately for the client, R - 12 were awarded the contract.

Tasks: 30 Collonade has undertaken a huge face lift and is now known as they YY building. There were several repairs that had to be carried throughout the existing stair cores where new doorways have been installed. There was not enough area to warrant pressed tile production. Due to the short turnaround R-12 Terrazzo Masters were able to source the aggregates and complete a sample within 4 days which was signed off for installation. Works were then complete in good time and to an exceptional standard.
